The Affirming Practice Podcast is for you if you are caring enough to try, to keep trying, to be willing to be wrong, or bad at something, to be corrected on occasion (in varying degrees of gentleness), if you are willing to admit you don't know what you don't know and that you know there are things you need to know more about to be a good ally in the fight for LGBTQ+ and disability rights along with rights for other marginalized people.

Who are we?

Dr. Casey Anne Brimmer is an artist, activist, educator, and now, podcast host. They are passionate about educating others on identity-based issues like gender, sexuality, disability, and intersectionality through an accessible lens. They chose a podcast because they believe it is an accessible format that can be used across platforms to make the world within their reach a better place. Dr. B - as their students call them - is hopeful that the Affirming Practice Podcast can help others face challenging social issues with more confidence and courage.

Bob Ierien is a Pennsylvania-based pastor and woodworker with a passion for justice and advocacy. He joins this podcast as someone who has asked questions from outside of the communities we discuss,
