Purposeful Art for Passionate People

"Purposeful Art for Passionate People" has been my artistic motto for more than 2 years. When I first started selling my art as a grad-school sidehustle it was supposed to be just that, a secondary way to have income from doing what I love. The reality is that lately I have been putting all of my eggs into this basket because jobs in my field aren't widely available right now and for various reasons I am having to rely heavily on my art for income.

My art is advocacy for myself and others. It is humor that brings lightness to dense topics and it is my hopes for a brighter future for everyone when it comes to body positivity, LGBTQ+ pride, disability pride and more importantly the rights of those marginalized by systems much bigger than ourselves. I am far from a professional artist but I am a passionate person who makes art with purpose. The purpose varies from self expression to deep desires but there is a purpose.

This Labor Day I am hopeful that others will honor my labor and my heart-work by bringing it into their homes, or at least to the attention of others in their lives. Self-promoting has never been my strong suit but if it means staying afloat in hard times I guess that's the part of this that's labor. I know my art makes a differencee. I see that at every pride event I do when someone comes in and they feel seen by artwork that represents them or their experiences.

So, I'm taking a chance. I'm being honest. I'm asking for support through likes, comments, shares, and sales. If my artwork speaks to you, interact with it. Share it with 3 people. Ask for it for your birthday or a holiday. The only way small businesses thrive is through the support of other people, our communities.
